Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you, best sushi in town or any town for that matter. Fresh and delicious, lightly garnished so good you don't need all the sugary syrups here because it's so good. The staff is like family as is the clientele. We love Irassae and as a Huntington Beach resident, we love this place far more than anything we've ever experienced. The food is worth the wait! Inside tip, order the HB roll!
Most delicious sushi. You have to try the ghost roll!! I can't wait to come back again. I'm going to try the Next Time!!
One of the greatest sushi restaurants I've ever been to has incredible fish options and a wide variety of sauces. I suggest ordering the albacore special roll, lchiban roll, and HB roll. It's so wonderful that you'll place additional orders. They also have a wide variety of freshly-tasted nigiri selections with soy sauce. If you enjoy tuna, you should definitely try the tuna special--it melts in your tongue.
Great little place that serves tasty sushi rolls. We've tried the HB roll, Ichiban, Ghost, and Alicia rolls. All were good but I highly recommend the Ichiban roll. Probably my favorite roll there.
As the name suggests, sushi is what this place is all about. If you don't arrive before the place opens, then expect a bit of a wait because there are no reservations. For example, a 6pm arrival on a Friday meant a 45 minute wait. In reality, the wait was around 30 minutes and using cellular data was difficult because there were probably a lot of users in the area. Here's what my party of 3 ordered: Yellowtail Roll HB Roll Yellow Tail Sashimi Scallops Snapper Carpacio Troublemaker Roll (new, not on the menu) - my favorite Nancy Roll (on the secret menu) Mixed Sashimi Everything we ate tasted fresh and had wonderful sauces. The Yellowtail Roll was the only roll that didn't have a sauce, so I used the leftover Troublemaker sauce and it was yum. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the space has lots of noise so it's hard to hear. As with most sushi places, vegetables are scarce.
Great food; local vibe, excellent service and staff. This is your typical local sushi place; not over priced Nobu type. Drove from Laguna to meet my daughter here from LA as she has heard great things about their food. We were sat within 5-10 min and the place was very crowded with regulars. Happy vibe, not too loud. Food was excellent, fresh - we also tried oyster shooters that were excellent.
Where have you been all of my life? Great sushi tucked in a strip mall, near my home, all these years and I was blind to it. Eating sub-standard sushi all of this time. Busy, well staffed, and very good service. Well run operation. Sushi was excellent! Went with a veteran diner who ordered two rolls off of their "secret" menu. A roll named tomorrow something and a 69 roll (couldn't forget that name) :-) Flavors and fish were excellent. Not pictured was a two-piece bluefin tuna sashimi for only $8. Melt in your mouth. Shrimp and vegetable tempura which was hot and fresh. This is my new go-to sushi spot!
Another sushi adventure! This time in HB I decided to check this place out. Located in a pretty big parking lot just do note that this place gets super busy and a lot of locals do come here! Pretty awesome! Luckily there was space at the sushi bar and I took my seat. The menu is fairly small but I was hearing there's some secret menu for the locals so that's really cool. I opted in to get an order of fried calamari and the ichiban roll. The chefs were all working hard but with smiles. The chef that helped me took my order as well as the servers. The calamari came out first and wow you get a bunch of pieces! These were lightly battered pieces and all of it tasted delicious along with the sauce that was provided. The chef next handed me the Ichiban roll. That ichiban roll let me tell was something else! Super spicy yet super delicious with the salmon and spicy scallop inside. Warning for those who don't like spicy rolls. I paid around $40 tip included and have to say this place is delicious and the staff is awesome. Must be a local favorite for people because this place was crowded so come early if you can! Definitely get your sushi fix here!
Let me tell you this place is worth the wait. I called in on a Tuesday when they opened and was surprised when they told me it was an hour before my food would be ready. However, I've heard great remarks from my neighbors and friend so I had to try it out. When I went to pick it up, I could tell why the wait was so long. It was packed and parties waiting to get inside. But it didn't seem hectic and the staff looked like they had the system down. I would recommend making reservations prior to dining! Now the sushi was absolutely delicious. After reading the reviews, I knew I had to try an item from their "secret" menu and it did not disappoint! The next time roll was my favorite out of the two. Whatever sauce that came with, wow it's amazing. I highly recommend. Next time, I'll dine in and try more of their menu. Everything tasted so fresh- I can see why this place is so popular!
